Rapporto Osservasalute 2010: Toscana, come siamo messi?
Tuscany landfill large amounts of waste, almost 1.3 million tonnes per year, equivalent to 50.73% of total waste generated (against a national average of 49.22%) and 7 in the incinerator, 61% (against a national average of 12.74%).
Tuscany shows a consumption of antidepressants equal to 54.07 defined daily doses per 1,000 inhabitants in 2009 - the worst figure in Italy as also observed in the previous edition of the Report Osservasalute. Nationally, the average consumption is 34.66 DDD/1000 ab / day.
In Tuscany the data on the use of patent expired medicines to the total number of DDD prescribed amounts to 50.4% of total consumption, compared with a national average of 46.2%. Tuscany has a percentage of spending on these drugs amounted to 32.4%, compared the national average of 27.8%. Both figures confirm the positive record of Tuscany on the face of drug use "non-branded."
Also note that in the period 2002-2009 Tuscany is the region that presented the biggest increases is in use (41.4 percentage points) than in spending (26.7 percent) of pharmaceutical patent expired.
Also regarding drugs shows that in 2009 Tuscany presents a high value, second only to the Valle d'Aosta, private expenditure per capita, up 39.9% of total expenditure.
In Tuscany, the standardized rate of total hospital discharges (ie, at regular hospitals and day hospital) is equal to 151.3 per 1,000 in 2008, the national average is equal to 187.3 per 1000. For the standardized rate of hospital discharges at regular Tuscany has a value of 100.3 per 1,000 in 2008 - as the best in Italy (Italian average 129.1 per 1,000).
The Region has used a share of donors (donor from whom at least one solid organ was removed and transplanted) equal to 35 per million population - PMP - (compared to 19.4 PMP Italian - year 2009) and a percentage of opposition to the donation at 28.4% (against an average of 30.3% Italian).
Tuscany, for years considered the region with the best organization to identify the potential donor, is the one with the best rate of donors reported as showing a proper government of the whole process enables the achievement of excellence. Nevertheless, Tuscany, has failed to achieve the same result with regard to the donors used.
