In Milan, the 60% of children at risk of poverty
Secondo una ricerca della Provincia di Milano, nella metropoli lombarda sei bambini su 10 vivono in condizioni precarie.
A Milano e provincia il 60% dei bambini in età prescolare vive in una famiglia la cui condizione economica è caratterizzata da “fatica e fragilità ed è quindi più esposta al rischio povertà”. È quanto emerge dalla Seconda Relazione Sociale della Provincia di Milano, condotta dall’Istituto per la Ricerca Sociale e dell’Università Bocconi e focalizzata sulla prima infanzia.
Stando ai dati relativi al 2009, il 60% degli oltre 227mila bambini in età prescolare che vivono a Milano e nell’hinterland sono figli di un lavoratore dipendente, il cui stipendio è l’unica fonte di reddito familiare, e abitano in affitto o in una casa di proprietà purchased through a mortgage. And then 10% lives in a state of "healthy home": they are the children of the self-employed or entrepreneurs, who live in houses or residential properties in central locations and spend one quarter of their income on leisure and recreation. If the families belonging to the latter two categories were not affected by the crisis, is increasing the level of vulnerability of families with young children belonging to the intermediate layers, which have not yet experienced obvious forms of discomfort but are likely to encounter to go there. As is apparent from the study, especially young couples with young children, serving low-wage, non-standard forms of contract, a housing market in plaster, must make use of the resources made available by the family of origin, which plays a crucial role in determining the level of welfare.
